About Lexeme

Lexeme is a free Bible study tool provided by Love Church (love-church.com). It provides access to four English Bible translations, Hebrew and Greek interlinear data (including a full-Bible KJV Strong's interlinear), Strong's lexicons, cross-references, a topical index, full-text search, a biblical calendar, and a one-year reading plan. It is free to use and will remain so.

Use of the tool

Lexeme is provided for personal Bible study, education, and non-commercial religious use. You are free to:

• Read and study the Bible text displayed here
• Quote short passages for personal notes, sermons, or study materials
• Share links to specific verses or passages

Accounts (optional)

You can use every Lexeme feature without an account. If you choose to create one, the following terms apply:

• You are responsible for the security of the email inbox you sign in with. Anyone who can read your inbox can request a sign-in link.
• You may export your account data at any time (Privacy — Your rights).
• You may delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion is immediate and removes your account record plus every row in Lexeme's sync tables tied to it. Supabase (our authentication platform) retains anonymised auth log entries for a short forensics retention window after deletion; the Privacy Policy has details.
• We may suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service (for example, automated scraping of the Bible data through the authenticated API). In practice this has never been necessary.

Licence constraints on bundled data

Lexeme bundles several datasets, each with its own licence. Most are public domain or CC0. A few are worth noting:

• Lexham English Bible (LEB) is used here under a non-commercial redistribution allowance. Lexeme is free and non-commercial. If Lexeme were ever to carry advertising or charge for access, the LEB would need to be removed or a commercial licence obtained from Lexham Press.
• OpenBible.info cross-references (344,799 entries) are licensed under CC BY 4.0. Attribution is provided on the Attributions page.
• STEPBible datasets (Hebrew and Greek interlinear, Strong's lexicons) are licensed under CC BY 4.0 from Tyndale House, Cambridge. Attribution is provided on the Attributions page.

Service availability

Lexeme is hosted on Vercel and the optional account layer on Supabase (eu-central-1). We aim to keep both available continuously and Lexeme is designed to work offline once you have visited a chapter, but we cannot promise zero downtime. If the optional account layer is temporarily unavailable, the rest of Lexeme continues to work without it.

No warranty

Lexeme is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. The Bible text, lexicon entries, cross-references, and calendar data are presented in good faith but may contain errors. For theological decisions, cross-check with original sources.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the tool evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes to how your account data is handled will be highlighted in the Privacy Policy.
